dirt "A Documentary"
Year: 2001 7 min 12 sec |
Written by Christopher Zara Directed by Fred Zara
Faithful to nature programs ... a'la The Discovery Channel, this
mockumentary examines one of the oldest substances the world has ever known: dirt. Candid interviews with dirt specialists are woven together to reveal dirt's immense but seldom discussed cultural significance. Beginning with its mysterious origins, we proceed to unmask the truth behind the myths of dirt history; its philosophical impact in ancient Greece; its pivotal role in shaping the American frontier; and its continued relevance in modern society. By treating this mundane subject with such iconic reverence, DIRT both pokes fun at and pays homage to the narrative genre it reflects. It's a story that had to be told. |
